DR Dre is at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering a brain aneurysm, per TMZ.
Sources connected to Dre and with direct knowledge tell us, Dre suffered the aneurysm Monday and was rushed by ambulance to Cedars and was taken directly to ICU, where he remains Tuesday.
Our sources say the 55-year-old music mogul is stable and lucid, but doctors don’t know what caused the bleeding and they are doing a battery of tests.
In an Instagram message posted on Tuesday night, the hip-hop icon said he’s “doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team.” Dre, born Andre Young, thanked “the great medical professionals” at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where he’s currently hospitalized.
The 55-year-old Dre — considered an architect of the West Coast rap scene with his work with the legendary group N.W.A., as a solo artist, as co-founder of the infamous Death Row Records and as a producer of work by the likes of Tupac Shakur, Eminem and Snoop Dogg.
